Personal Statement

Hello! My name is Kaitlynn Kenna, and I am a reclass 2026. Throughout my childhood sports have always been a big part of my life. I started out as a young gymnast, later picking up track and basketball. Ever since I started playing basketball, I never wanted to stop, striving to get better and better. I am currently a starter on an AAU travel team, and I am a starter on the girls' varsity basketball team at Canterbury High School. My overall goal / dream is to play basketball at a competitive collegiate level. As a teammate, I am friendly, energetic, and love to have a good time, but I also know when it's time to be serious. I see my team as a family that you can lean on but also as friends that can help push you to achieve your full potential. As an individual, I have high expectations for myself and always want to get better. Aggression, physical strength, speed, and defense are definitely four of my stronger traits on the court, although I have plenty of skills to work on. What makes me different from other recruits as a player, is that I know that this process won't be easy. I understand that I will need to push myself past my limits both physically and mentally to become the best player and teammate I can be. I am a determined, hardworking, passionate, and a high-spirited individual that loves to push myself as far as I can go. As far as academics go, I work hard to get high grades, and I am currently taking the highest-level courses that are offered to my age. Despite athletics, I have always maintained a high GPA and kept up with my work. I have always thrived in the classroom and enjoy learning, especially in the science categories. I would like to major in something along the lines of biology or pre-med, as I would one day love to work in the medical field. Thank you!

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
