Jakara Akins '20 Recruiting Profile

1 Corinthians 10:31, “Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God”.  I started playing basketball in middle school, and in 8th grade I made the varsity girls basketball team. That same year mid-season I had an injury that changed the way I played basketball forever. My love for the game grew stronger, and I worked harder to achieve my goals of being a great player. As a junior I reached 1,000 points in a district championship game. My goal for my final year of high school Is to maintain a 4.0 gpa. For college, I would like to pursue a nursing degree while playing the sport I love. As a fourth year member of the Ministry Leadership Institute, and second year Varsity Girls Basketball captain, I know what it takes to be a great leader for your team.
