Caroline Smith '22 Recruiting Profile

As a 2022 senior at Northside Christian Academy in Starke, Florida, I am an exceptionally dedicated and balanced student-athlete. I am currently top of my class, with a GPA of 4.102, an SAT score of 1020, and a member of the National Honors Society. As a four-year varsity starter, I have excelled in basketball under Coach Jason Pilcher, while at Northside. To continue my growth and development as a player, I played and started for my AAU basketball teams under Coach Jermaine Shavers, during 2020 and 2021. 

I am a hard worker, an uplifting teammate, and a strong leader. I strive to be the hardest-working player on the court. My goal has always been to get better every year. Year after year, I have accomplished just that. I don’t believe in quitting just because a situation is tough. If we did that, no one would ever grow. Through my hard work, I push my teammates to do better, because I want to see my team succeed. I’m committed to my team. As a leader, you have to be able to pump up and encourage your team even when things aren’t going their way in practice or in games. Encouragement is huge. They have to know that someone believes in them, and as a leader, it’s my job to do that. As a player and person, I realize that I’m not done developing. I have to keep working hard to become better as a player and as a leader. If we quit working then we quit growing as individuals and as a team. I have strived during my high school career to never quit working, and as a college student-athlete, I will continue with that goal.
