About two years ago, I had an injury to my foot. I asked my cousin, an Physical Therapist, what I could do to help the pain go away. She told me how to alleviate the pain. From then on, I thought that being a physical therapist would be an awesome job. I would love to be a physical therapist because I want to help people.
Since I want to be a physical therapist, I have been looking for colleges to attend that have physical therapy, but also have a good sports program. I know that in order to become a physical therapist, I will need to take classes that require quite a bit of preparation and time. I feel that being a three sport athlete in High School has helped me prepare for this time commitment.
I feel my background in sports would also help me relate to my patients. Because I have that background, I feel I would have the best knowledge of what is needed to help them on their way to recovery. I have been hurt a couple times and I believe that I could share my experience with them and give them the reassurance that everything will be alright.
My ability to love the games I play as well as keep things fun is what makes my teammates love to play with me. I stay positive to the end and I always have the drive to improve. I want to be the best I can be and be able to show those younger than I that anything is possible no matter how small the school you come from.
My Dad passed away when I was 5 so it's just been my mom and I. She has taught me to love what I do and to always give it my best. By having goals you have a reason to move on. It's been difficult for us both but I know my Dad would be very proud of the person I have become and the goals I have set for myself.
