Academics have always been easy for me. I've always gotten straight A's and have been on the High Honor Roll and take all Honors Classes. I've been playing basketball since 6th grade. I've always been a starter, I wasn't necessarily good but because of my competitive mindset, I would do my best every game. When I got to high school I played on the Varsity team and was the starting point guard. I had to deal with carrying the team with defense, scoring, and leading. It was challenging but it made me a better player and person outside of basketball.
I wasn't given the title of captain for the 2021-22 basketball season but I still stepped up and helped my teammates become better players as well and come up with plays with my coach. I'm used to having the ball most of the game and I'm conditioned to play the entire game without sitting out. Since I am also left-handed it's easy to get to the left side and finish with a layup. Throughout the seasons my defense has carried me through every game, I'm quick, I'm strong, and I'm able to keep up with the older and stronger players.
