My name is Samara Swire. I am a sophomore attending Lincoln-Way East with a 3.5 GPA. I’m currently active in several clubs (Black Student Union, Best Buddies, and Stage Crew, Griffin Crew Leader, and Student Ambassador). Besides basketball, I also run track. My goal is to become a sports trainer; majoring in Sports Medicine. This will allow me to combine my love for basketball with medicine. Helping the younger generation understand the importance of not only maintaining a healthy body; but mind and spirit. In my spare time; I enjoy reading and spending time with my family.

- I have been with Illinois Defenders since 4th grade. In the 2016-2017 year; my team won game in 2nd place in the USJN Chicago Summer JAM. Winning 8 out of 10 tournaments we participated in. I was the starting point guard for all the games. Last year; my team was bumped up a 15U. Participating and placing 3rd in many of the tournaments we participated in.
