Kiarra Kilgore '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Kiarra Kilgore; I am a junior at Galesburg High School located in Galesburg, IL.  The purpose of this statement is to express my desire and passion to pursue basketball at the next level. Basketball has already offered me so many amazing opportunities and has connected me with fantastic coaches and players who I look up to as role models. My ultimate goal is to play competitive college basketball while earning my college degree. I plan to major in physical therapy. I know that playing basketball in college is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I am willing to put whatever it takes in becoming the best basketball player I am capable of being. I have been playing basketball since I was five years old. Since I first stepped on the court, I have aspired to play at the collegiate level.   I fully understand that academics are the most essential element of college. However, I believe that being part of a team creates life bonds, teamwork and character. 

Throughout my high school years I have achieved high honor roll. In the classroom I am focused and determined to always do my best and put 100% into all homework, assignments, projects and tests. I have always tested myself with difficult classes. For example, I have challenged myself by taking honors english and math courses. 

My love for basketball is undeniable.  I know it takes hard work, dedication, and passion to be successful at the next level. “Success is a journey, not a destination” by Bob Beamon, Olympic Track & Field 1968…I am ready to embark on this journey!
