As a point guard, I've been a starting ball handler for my High school team since freshman year. I am a dominant ball handler. I can handle ball pressure very well and not get scared. I can keep my dribble if I'm not certain a pass is there. I love to drive the ball and kick it out to the open player. I have good vision going down the court and can make the early pass ahead for my team. Defensively, I am good with putting pressure on the ball. I know when to use my hips and body to have the opponent change direction. I am a good player on and off the court. I pick my teammates up when there head is down. I have good sportsmanship towards the other team. Off the court I can be funny and bright person to make someone day. I try to not let a bad game effect the way I play or effect it for the next game. What makes me different from other point guards is, I manage to listen what coaches say and apply it in games or practice. It don’t go in one ear and out the other. When a coach is talking I keep eye contact so the coach know I am listening.
Academically, I maintain straight A’s and have a 4.9 gpa. Over the years I‘ve been in honors classes and AP classes. I’m a good classmate for my peers. When they don’t understand an assignment, I will help out and explain the work to them. I sometimes even tutor them. I make sure I’m not stuck on an assignment. I ask questions when I don’t understand.
