Samantha Campanelli '23 Recruiting Profile

Hello! My name is Sammi Campanelli. I am a Junior at Huntley High School in Illinois. I have been playing basketball since about 3rd grade through our Huntley park district league. In 5th grade, I made the Huntley Feeder Travel team where we played in the NIGFBA league. I made some of my closest friends at this point. I also played both seventh grade and eighth grade through my middle school where we won conference both years.  Freshman year I played on Jv where we also had a successful season. I learned a lot this year. Sophomore year I ended up making Varsity; however, we had a shortened season due to covid. I learned to appreciate what I have so much during that season and Covid. I started with my Lady Lightning team my freshman year where we travel all over playing some really great teams. Defense is my favorite part of the game. I feel that it is the place where I can bring energy to the game and my teammates.   I love this game and the great lessons I can learn from it.
