Dezirea Jordan '21 Recruiting Profile

Hello, I am Dezirea Jordan from Streator, IL. To introduce myself I will start off talking about the beginning of my athletic career. I have been involved in sports since I was young but started playing official in the sixth grade. I have always had a strong passion for basketball that I recognized when I was young which drove me to come better each year as I grew.  I've spent every summer since sixth grade dedicating it to basketball and the gym. I have gained an amazing work ethic that I believe will come in handy when playing at the next level. As each year goes on, I notice how much I am growing as a player mentally and physically. Next, my academic success is extremely important to me as well as is basketball. My gpa is a 3.91/4.0 which I am very proud of even with having a hard year with the pandemic. I''ve worked hard to receive good grades since first grade that I believe came from my hard drive for basketball. My future becoming successful has always been a priority when it came to my schooling and the gym.  I consider myself to be a very passionate, focused, and committed person. Each of these characteristics allows me to be someone who is considered to be coachable. I have such a passion that I am willing to listen and learn advice that will allow me to grow as a player. I also find it important to communicate and be a good teammate. I enjoy building a bond with my teammates and gaining chemistry for our team.  I have been involved in Peer Leadership, Snowball, and National Honor Society at my school that all has to deal with communication with my peers. I believe it is important to be involved and create relationships with your peers. I am excited to play basketball, create bonds, and get my education all at the next level.
