My name is Nina Verhagen. I am 17 years old and 5"8 weighing 163 lbs. Right now I am working with a private skills coach, Coach Aaron Green, as well as working out on my own each day to improve my strength. This summer I am playing on a travel team called Baylor Elite. I am practicing hard in hopes that I will be able to play at a College or University level. Playing Basketball is the most important factor when deciding on what college I will attend. I will be majoring in Education and minoring in History so I am also looking for a college that has my major. When it comes to school I haven't always been a great student. My freshman year I packed on classes and extracurriculars in hopes that it would look good on a college application but little did I know that it would be to heavy of a burden to carry. I learned my lesson and focused my talents on classes and extracurriculars that I could handle while still challenging myself. Each year of High School my grades have drastically improved and will continue to improve as I move into my senior year. Being a quality student is equally as important as being a dedicated athlete to me. I would be an asset to any team because I know what it means to work hard without giving up. I am willing to push myself beyond my limits gladly. I am a great leader and team player and give my very best on and off the court.
