Paula Puzule '21 Recruiting Profile

Good afternoon coach,

My name is Paula Puzule and I'm a 5'5 shooting guard from Liepaja, Latvia.

I have graduated from JUCO with an Associate in Arts (business) High Honors degree. I am looking to further my education and continue with my basketball career at a 4-year school now.

I have never been the tallest, and many times, the most talented player in the gym, but every level that I've played at, I've outworked everyone around me. I love to push myself and my teammates out of our comfort zones- this is the only way to success. 

I give 100% in everything that I do- both on and off the floor. In classroom my GPA is 3.9. I have been injured before and this experience showed me that the game of basketball can be taken away from you in as quickly as 0.01 second, so every time I step on the floor, I give it my all. Overcoming my injury, shows my dedication to the sport that I love the most. It was a rollercoaster of many emotions however my hard work, motivation and willpower were the main tools in my recovery process. 

I love playing defense- nothing can beat the feeling of getting a steal, or a shot clock violation. I'm also very coachable. Everything that a coach says, I absorb very quickly and add it to my game so that my team can be successful. These are the things that win championships!
