Personal Statement
Let me introduce myself as Rosema. I am a 17 year old guard from a small city in Quebec, Canada called Magog. My basketball career started in grade 6. I fell in love with the game as soon as I made my first basket. Since then, I've played all year long on regional and school teams. I am now captain of my basketball team for three years in a row and I am a starter on the varsity team since grade 9 . I have my own record of being the youngest girl to to have start on the varsity team.
I participated in tournaments such as ''Jeux du Québec'' which allowed me a spot on my regional team and ''CAIS'' which is a combination of all the Canadian independent schools in which my team came in third. Oupside of school, I compete in a U18 D1 league with LBA.
In school, I maintain an overall average of 87%. I challenge myself by taking multiple AP and honours classes. I am very involved in my community which is why I was named Head girl of my school. I gave a TedX talk in 2019 and I am currently responsible for the event that my school holds each year. In my free time, I like to hang out with friends, shoots some hoops and I also tutor at a local shelter.
I love to challenge myself academically and physically in everything that I do. I would like to pursue my studies in health and biology or go onto the medical path. My ultimate goal would be to do so while playing the sport that I love.
