My name is Audra Burbridge and I am a Freshman at Maquoketa Valley High School in Delhi, IA. Basketball is my passion and I aspire to play at the collegiate level.
I love the fast pace of the game and pride myself on my effort. Being small and quick, defense has always been my specialty. I am also a natural leader on the court, as I see the court well and enjoy involving the entire team to ensure success. I take as much pride in a great assist, as I do a steal or a made shot. I have spent countless hours honing my skills throughout the years and developed many valuable traits such as dedication, hard work & perseverance.
I am a competitor at heart and while I am fortunate to be athletically inclined, I think my competitive drive sets me apart from others. In addition to basketball, I also play softball and run track and cross country. I was a starter on the varsity softball team as an 8th grader, where I led the team in batting average this past season. I was also the middle school state cross country champion last year and have high hopes as I start my high school running career. Being a part of a small school, I feel it is very important for athletes to be involved in multiple sports and activities. It not only helps the teams be able to compete at a higher level, but it makes for more well-rounded athletes.
Balancing athletics and academics is also a priority for me, as I will strive to maintain a high GPA throughout my high school and college career. I plan to pursue a degree in physical therapy, which I think will mesh well with my athletic endeavors.
Looking ahead, I am eager to continue my basketball journey at the collegiate level, where I can further develop my skills, contribute to a team and carry on my love of basketball.
