The basketball court is my second home. I love every second I'm on it. As I grew up, my enjoyment for the game grew also. Winning 3rd at State during my Junior HS season has been the biggest accomplishment in my basketball career so far. Looking back, I knew I wouldn't have made it that far if it wouldn't have been for getting knocked out early in the tournament the year before. That year, our team was supposed to make it to State and do well, but lost during our Sub-State Finals. That loss is what drove me to improve all summer and school year leading up to our next season. I look forward to taking it day by day and learning new things that will help improve my skills and my teamwork abilities.
Even with the accomplishments I've made, I am not nearly satisfied with my skills and will continue to work hard to grow as an athlete and basketball player. I believe that the harder things in life provide bigger lessons to learn from if you allow it to. I have also learned a lot about myself through basketball. When I find something I am passionate about, I will do anything it takes to be the best I can at it. I also learned that I love the teamwork setting and helping others achieve their goals. My work ethic carries over to my academics as well. I strive to earn a degree that would puts me in the best position to help others through my career. I want to be in a place where I can make a difference and help the community grow.
