Basketball is a huge part of my life, it's my main focus after God and family. My dad was a boys basketball coach for years and I got to practice with the boys at a very young age. My dad worked with me and my sister all the time even though we didn't play on a basketball team yet.
It wasn't until fourth grade when I got on a team and my Dad coached me. My dad is the hardest coach I've ever had, he pushes me to the maximum. During one basketball season he made a challenge for my team to do 30 minutes of ball handling for 30 days. After I finished that I decided to keep going, and I ended up doing 200 days of ball handling for 30 minutes per day. Usually I did it under our car port or in my garage, even down our bumpy small town streets. I even did it for the 12 days we traveled on vacation to California. I believe I can do anything I set my mind to because I'm not afraid of hard work and dedication. I want to play Division 1, because I strive to play at the highest division and I believe I have the talent, dedication, and passion to play at that level.
I am also involved in Kay Club which is for community service. I find events around the community to volunteer in with my club. I've helped with child-watch at church, elementary and middle school events, even a 5K event at the Kansas City zoo. I enjoy new experiences and look forward to many more volunteer jobs. I also am a self-motivated entrepreneur, I put a flyer out around my community last summer to do miscellaneous jobs, like housework, dog walking, and yard work. I stayed busy and nearly made a thousand dollars for the summer. I also learned to crochet from my Grandma and I have sold over 300 ear warmers in the past 4 years.
I am a Christian, raised in a Christian family all my life. Not into politics but I would say my family is conservative. I attend FCA on Wednesdays ever since the 6th grade. I am kind, sweet, and can be shy at times. I love to hang out with my family and friends and have fun. I like roller skating, ice skating, jumping hurdles, watching movies, crochet, shopping and babysitting my 2 year old sister when I'm not playing basketball.
In college I want to study medicine and be in Health Care, as well as minor in Spanish. I'm taking classes in high school to lead me in this direction.
I want to find a great school in a beautiful location with a successful basketball program. I plan to make a positive impact wherever I go and look forward to a bright future.
