Amelia Thompson '23 Recruiting Profile

      My name is Amelia (Amy) Thompson. Currently I am in the process of transferring from Mercy Academy to Whitefield Academy, both located in Louisville, Kentucky. Ever since I was a little girl, I have always been around sports. Whether that be watching a game on T.V, watching my older brother play, or playing in a game myself. My summer basketball journey started when I was 9 years old. Before this, I played for my school, but I had never played AAU. With the help of my family and my many coaches, I have been able to develop my skills. The one thing that I have found from all of my coaches is that I love to share the ball. There is nothing that compares to making a pass which just slips through the defenders hands, and your teammate scores.

      I’ve always been told that basketball is a “game of runs”. With these runs, there are positive and negative things that happen. I have learned to embrace the positive things, and learn from the negative ones. I hope to continue to play basketball at the next level while receiving an excellent education.
