I'm a self-driven athlete ready to compete on a a professional level. I've played games that we won and moved on. I've played games where we lost, but the games we lost had the biggest impact. Once we lost I wait for the film, I see all the mistakes I've made and study them or write them down. I then go into the gym or anywhere else and practice to fix it. I'm a perfectionist and make sure I fulfill any task in life or in basketball. I am never satisfied with myself after a game if I only scored less than 5 points and got less than 10 rebounds. I set a goal for myself every game , I play like i'm losing. I just love the game.
But with basketball I learned things aren't just given to you, you have to work for them. I have been put in so many difficult positions playing sports, but I learned not to fold. I learned to keep a balance in school work and basketball and to maintain a high GPA. Keeping a strong mindset and staying positive takes you a long way . I take all criticism and keep a mental check of it, I then apply it . Anywhere I feel i'm weak at I stay and focus on those areas and constantly work until i'm no longer weak in those areas. I'm always open to learning new things and taking in new ideas. I'm also a quick learner and will get the job done. I always will make sure I understand even if that means I ask a lot of questions. I'm never scared to state or point out things that can be altered to help the team or my teammates . I will always hold myself accountable and my team and I will always practice like i'd play in a game. Every practice to me is an opportunity to get better and learn. I also feel every game is a lesson. I will push my teammates to make them better as individuals. But in this sport of basketball I've learned and taken in so much. I realized life won't be easy on you and everyday is just a gut check. Everyday is a challenge but it's your decision if you give up or not. You are always in control and no matter what happens always hold yourself accountable.
