Hi, my name is Aaliyah Gaddis. I come from a poor city, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Over the years it had been hard for my family to have money. In some cases, its been getting hard for me too. Knowing my family works so hard to provide for the family, I took an extra step also. I’ve put goals for myself to put in extra work over the summers, and during times every other kid have off. I worked so hard for 3 years after summer, after summer, after summer, pushing myself to things I never knew I had inside me. I promised my parents that one day my hard work is gonna pay off. They all counted in and has been supporting me through everything that I have set my goals to. And I think I could be a great candidate to a college team or any team is because I will forever and always put my team, family, God, and the ones I love most first. I am always there. For extra work in the gym. I am there if I need to be somewhere else. I am there if I need to take another step. I am always there. Even if Im tired. I refuse to quit. Im different from other athletes and academics because I put myself to a point were I refuse to quit and lose to anything that I’m competing to. In a game I usually like to play and show instead of talking. I love humbling people. Even if they are my enemy. Same for academics. I may not be at the best at one subject, but I’m gonna push myself to get the best. I’m gonna push myself to study and be the best that I can in the class.
