My name is Hope Crowe. I am a student at Bowling Green School in Franklinton, LA. I will be a Sophomore during the 2019-2020 school year. I have played basketball since I was five years old. Basketball is a sport that I thoroughly enjoy and like to give 100% toward each game when playing. My goal is to strive to do the best I can throughout the remainder of my high school years. During this time I plan to grow each year/season in my basketball skills, so hopefully I will have an opportunity to be a great asset to a college and team.
Over the past 3 years, I have played Junior Varsity basketball for our school as well as AAU basketball (as a Roadrunner and Dominos) in the Louisiana area. The most current school year, 2018-2019, I played both Junior and Varsity levels of basketball. This was a great opportunity to be able to play both levels because I believe it helped me to grow on the court with the experience of older teammates as well of opposing players.
I have a strong desire to grow on the court while being pushed hard by my current coach and being encouraged by other teammates that are more knowledgeable in the game of basketball. I am a very coachable athlete who is excited about learning new plays that can be brought onto the court. I am a strong 3-point and free-throw shooter. I am quick to think on plays and dependable on getting the ball in-bounds. Under pressure when games are very close or tied up my coach is setting up plays for me to “shoot the lights out” as he would call it. I love these opportunities to use the skills that I have practiced hard on and have been taught through-out my year of basketball.
I have worked hard year-round on my basketball skills by participating in the last several years on Junior and Varsity basketball teams at Bowling Green School, on an AAU Team, also participating in years of Little League, Junior High and High School Track and lifting in the weight room, which all contributes to my athleticism.
In the classroom, I study hard and maintain a high GPA. I am part of the National Beta Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Interact Club. I also volunteer work at my church, Ben’s Ford Baptist Church.
I want to attend a college that fits my area of field interests, but also a college where I can apply my skills on their basketball court. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to become a great role model to all my peers in my community and make my parents proud.
