My name is Janessa Horwitz and I am currently a 10th grader at Our Lady of Mount Carmel. During high school I would like to see myself excel as a student and an athlete. I moved to Maryland from Florida when I was nine years old and I think it has made me a stronger person. It has made me more independent, I had to make new friends and enter a new school. I am currently playing on Mount Carmel's varsity basketball team. I didn't start playing basketball until I moved to Maryland. In the future I would like to see myself playing division one basketball in college. In order to do this, I will need to focus on academics as well as making sure I'm dedicated and committed to the training needed for that level. Basketball has helped me develop as a person throughout the years. Playing basketball has taught me many different things but the main ones are to learn from my mistakes and to have confidence in myself. I have a strong desire to play basketball in college and I am dedicated to achieving my dream.
