Hi! My name is Nicola Webbe and I am from Dorchester, MA. I've loved Basketball since I got the opportunity to work with my high school coach. What I love is the fact that it challenges me mentally and physically. This sport has allowed me to push myself and continue to strive towards excellence. Without basketball, I do not know what I would do. Playing has enabled me to encourage myself that anything is possible, motivate my teammates, and strive to be the best that we could be as one unit. While playing at Massbay Community College, it was a hard process because we worked to be a varsity program and were unable to. Despite the tough circumstances, I encouraged myself that this would not be the end of the road. It was tough being in a situation where you know you can not play an official game, but that did not stop me. I went in the cafe and relentlessly talked to every girl I could find about Basketball. We ended up with five girls besides myself and played eight games. Although I promised myself that a championship banner would be raised while I was there, I feel like I got more than a banner could possibly satisfy. I got a chance to build a foundation with my other teammates for the future women's program, I developed a greater passion for the game of basketball, and a mindset that despite the tough times, the ones that push through will be successful. Through my experience at Massbay, I have a greater zeal and hunger to give 150% to any team that gives me a chance, wanting to play, and giving all I possibly can be excel in the classroom and on the court. My goal is to play basketball while obtaining my business degree. My dream is to be in the WNBA or play overseas and the quote that is a constant reminder whenever I am in the classroom, gym, or court is "Hard Work beats Talent when talent fails to work hard!"
Hope to speak to you soon!
Thank You :D
