Hi coaches!
Ever since I was baby, I looked up to my older brother. He was a huge inspiration growing up and I would not be where I am today without his guidance and influence. As a younger sister, I wanted to do everything my brother did, including all the sports he played. I participated in soccer, karate and softball, but my passion dwindled for each of them, except for basketball.
The effect that basketball has on me is magical. The passion I have grows every time I step on the court. I love basketball for everything it has taught me and given me over the past seven years. In particular, my leadership, communication, dedication, and hard work in school and life all come from my experiences in basketball.
Although my career in basketball has largely been successful, I recently experienced being cut from a summer team that I really wanted to play on. This lit a spark in me that I never knew I had and my determination to improve my skills has stuck with me ever since. Fortunately, I was chosen to be part of the team’s development program and throughout the training period I demonstrated perseverance and a positive attitude so that just before the big tournament the coach selected me to play for his team when someone else was injured! I loved the feeling of improving and this experience has further motivated me to seek opportunities to get even better.
Not only am I committed to basketball, but I am also committed to my education and obtaining outstanding grades. My ultimate academic goal is to attend a renowned and high academic school while being able to play basketball. I would love to study in the medical field or sciences and am looking for a school that can support all my goals.
I strongly believe that I am a strong candidate for any college or university basketball program because I am an excellent communicator, I put in the extra effort in everything I do and I have a passion for learning and education.
Thank you!
