Cali Melo '24 Recruiting Profile

       Hi, my name is Cali Melo, I am the starting point guard for Taunton High School and Mass Huskies AAU Varsity team. I have played on Varsity for three years and started for two years as a Point Guard at Taunton. I will be graduating in the 2024 class and am looking to play in college at a division two or three school in the east coast area where I can work towards a Finance degree, while playing basketball. On the court, I am an absolute team player, willing to do whatever is needed to help my team succeed. Mostly, I hear about my great rebounding/boxing out abilities from other coaches, but aside from that I find my strength on the court in finding the best options for my team to score as well as having a great shot off the dribble myself. I pride myself on being a leader by example and through communicated and am recognized by both my Taunton High School team and Mass Huskies team by being selected by my teammates to be a captain my junior and following senior year. A few of my proudest athletic accomplishments include earning All-Scholastic All-Star Team from the Taunton Gazette and Hockomock League All-Star Honorable Mention, both as a sophomore and earning Hockomock League All-Star Conference Team my junior year. Off the court, I take my studies and school very seriously, I maintain a 5.045 GPA as well as participate in clubs such as the National Honors Society, and Interact Club. I have been placed in many AP classes already and plan to take five more in the coming school year.
