I started playing basketball in 4th grade first participating in the intown recreation league. I was a consistent starter playing on the highest level of travel basketball from 5th to 8th grade. The 8th grade travel team that I was a part of won the River Valley League championship in 2016 representing Tewksbury, MA. I have played for AAU teams (Mass Huskies, New England Warriors, and Mass Elite) dating back to 6th grade (2013/2014) playing for teams in the offseason all year round. Even though I am no longer playing in the intown/travel town programs, I have volunteered at the 1st-3rd grade basketball clinic serving as a head coach for a 2nd grade team during the 2017/2018 season.
As a freshman, I made the Junior Varsity basketball team. I was 1 of 4 incoming Freshman who made the team. I was a starter and top scorer for the team.
As a sophomore, I made the Varsity basketball team. I am consistently one of the first players off the bench beyond the starters. My strengths would be an overall high IQ of the game, a strong defensive presence often being relied on in the final minutes of a close game and unselfish offensive player often looking for open players while also garnering my own points. I would consider myself an all-around asset to any team understanding that the points are only a small piece of the entire game. In addition to basketball, I also made the Varsity soccer team in my Sophomore year and was tapped as the starting goalkeeper in my Junior year.
Outside of the athletic programs, I am very driven with my academics which is evident with my 4.0 (out of 4.5) GPA while taking several honors and AP courses. I am a member of DECA and am currently serving on the Student Council representing the class of 2020.
Sports has taught me some life lessons including time management, goal setting, teamwork, & commitment. I am looking for a college that best fits me academically and athletically. I have worked very hard academically to prepare for college while continuously improving and growing my basketball skills. My hope is that you will see that I have the personal drive and ability to succeed at the next level both as a student and athlete. It is my desire and goal to continue playing basketball at the collegiate level.
