COMMITTMENT! Playing basketball for the past 5 years, every day, every weekend is my LIFE! Tournaments, practicing, clinics are my "happy place"
COMPETING! I love to compete, its hard for me to even practice "half way" (ask my coaches). I am a competitor at heart and find it hard not to put 110% in everything I do. Honor Roll if not High Honors in academics for me is a must.
DETERMINATION! Last spring I tore my ACL and had to have ACL reconstruction surgery. A 6 month recovery time that took me a while to get used to. I rehab everyday, go to every team practice and patiently wait until I can get back out on the court.
LEADERSHIP! Not being able to tryout and play sports my Freshman year has been hard to deal with. I have dreamt of this time since I was in 5th grade. Competing against older, stronger, maybe quicker girls was going to be the ultimate challenge for me (until my injury of course). Instead, I was able to be an assistant coach for Freshman soccer, still supporting my teammates and enjoy competing from the sidelines. I received the "Coaches Award" for not missing a practice or game all season, except when my dog died. As Freshman team manager I will be able to continue to support my team and coach. I get to get back in the gym and see the light at the end of this injury tunnel!!
HOPE! I hope to come back 110% and continue to compete, support, and live my dream of playing in college.
