My name is Karalynn Goering. I live in Taylor, Michigan and I am entering my junior year at Inter-city Baptist High School. Being an active person, I enjoy swimming, reading, long boarding, and playing sports. Currently, I represent my high school in volleyball, softball, and basketball.
Basketball is my favorite sport. Since third grade, my dream has been to play college basketball. I entered my freshman year hoping to make the varsity girl's basketball team. I continued to work very hard at basketball and was invited the summer before my freshman year to play with the varsity team in a tournament. That fall, I was playing varsity volleyball when I broke my leg. I was worried because basketball season was just around the corner. Spending weeks in therapy, I progressively got stronger. After the start of basketball season, I was finally able to play and earned a spot on the varsity team.
The hard work had paid off, but I was still not a starter. I worked all summer long before my sophomore year to be a starter by going to basketball camps and working out at home. By the next season, I was starter for the team. My position was a shooting guard. This summer I have joined an AAU team to further help me grow as a basketball player. I am now hoping to come back this up coming season and help my team win Regionals.
I have always wanted to play basketball for a Christian collage, although I am open to opportunities elsewhere. I work very hard both on and off season. I'm always looking to improve my skills as well as help others achieve their goals. I am also a Christian and want to play my very best for God and use the talents He has given me for His honor and glory.
