My High School basketball career is no where near over, but my most memorable moment is when my team of 7 won the Class D regional Championship my sophomore year. This is the farthest any team has gotten in the history of women’s basketball in my high school. I just remember the last couple seconds of the scoreboard ticking down, and then the buzzer sounded. My team, and entire school completely exploded, and everyone rushed onto the floor. It was my biggest achievement of my entire basketball career, and I couldn’t believe it was happening.
When I was in the third grade, I started to find my love for the game. My sister played on a travel basketball, and I was lucky enough to get to practice with them. I practiced with her team year around, and while also playing elementary basketball. . When I got in the sixth grade I finally got to join a travel team. This experience has really shaped me on the kind of player I am. I got to find out which positions I was good in. One of my coaches always told me, if you do the no talent things, you will succeed in multiple ways, not just in basketball, but also in life.
While playing basketball, I have learned to become headstrong, and push through all of my battles. I have played with small numbered teams since I was in seventh grade. I have learned to play tired and not give up until the last buzzer sounds. I found that doing the no talent things like hustling, being a leader on the court and dedicating time outside of practice to a sport I love to play has made me the player I am today.
While in High School, I have taken many advanced classes, to challenge my learning ability, even though they are not needed for me to graduate. I have always had a love for science based classes. I completely fell in love with the human body, especially bone, while taking an Anatomy and Physiology class. My goal in high school is to keep my grades high, while taking the advanced classes to expand my learning, so I can move onto a competitive, disciplined and welcoming college
