I have been playing basketball since I was four years old and have always loved the game. However, it wasn’t until 8th grade when I realized that I wanted to play at the college level. I know that playing in college is a once in a lifetime opportunity that could change my entire future.
On the court I’m a high-level shooter with range, a great on-floor communicator, and an unselfish teammate. I have a positive attitude, am coachable, and consider myself a workout junkie. I also have an exceptional basketball IQ and always love learning more about the game. I strive to be one of the hardest working players on the team whether in the gym or watching film.
I work year-round on my basketball skills, participating in multiple camps and playing on AAU and high school teams. As a freshman I was a starter and awarded captain. I felt it was a great honor to be a captain and it allowed me the opportunity to strengthen my leadership skills. I also received All-League Honorable Mention.
Basketball is my number one sport but not the only sport I play. In school I also play volleyball, making the JV team as a freshman. I also played softball for several years but decided to step away to play AAU basketball in the springtime. For fun I enjoy playing pickleball, cornhole, spike ball, and if I’m not playing a sport more than likely you will find me watching some sort of sporting event. I believe playing multiple sports and my love for sports in general contribute to my athletic abilities.
In the classroom, I study hard and maintain a high GPA. In 8th grade, I was inducted into the Junior National Honor Society and was Top 15 in my class. Being a student athlete is not easy and has taught me to be disciplined and that time management is important. I also participate in Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and was selected by the high school teachers to attend the ALL IN conference which is about being a leader to all my peers. Outside of school I volunteer in the community with my youth group.
As I think about the college I want to attend, I would like to attend one that will continue to push me to become not only a better basketball player but also provide me with opportunities to learn important life skills and help me to achieve my future goals.
