As a senior at TCW, I have learned the value of teamwork, showcased my leadership skills and have faced much adversity. My basketball career started in the third grade. I learned early on that setting goals was important in both my academic and athletic success. As a freshman, I excelled at both volleyball and basketball, with only one loss between each season. As a sophomore, I started on both basketball and volleyball teams. If I had to describe my sophomore year in an emotional aspect, one word would sum it up... devastating.m. Yet despite these difficult circumstances, I fought and persevered and was named honorable mention for both all- conference and all -region. My junior year was seen as a rebuilding year. Another new coach and a new program. Although much healing needed to occur, our new coach was determined to make basketball a positive experience again. Junior year, I was named second team all-conference with the all-region honorable mention. I am excited for what is so far a great senior season as our team is starting to come together. While I am still undecided on the direction I want to pursue, I know these life skills I have learned will assist me in any career I choose.
