I have been playing basketball since I was 8 years old. I knew shortly after stepping on the court that playing basketball at the next level was a goal I wanted and was going to push myself to succeed and reach for. I love how each person on the team is a part of a whole. I learned very early on that you have to work for what you want in life. I work hard on both ends of the court and I am easy to coach. I also take direction and constructive criticism well and implement the necessary changes based on the comments given to me to help improve my game.
I take pride in not allowing my opponent to score and I believe that offensively, it is a team effort. The big plays are exciting to watch but it is the fundamentals that win games. When I step on the court I am a strong force and only focus on only getting the job done for my coaches and my team. I am continuing to grow and mature in my game and in being a confident leader on and off the court.
I know that teamwork, determination, commitment, sacrifice, and hard work are at the core to becoming the best player I can be. I love winning, but valuable lessons can be learned in a moment of disappointment and no matter what, you can never give up on yourself or your team. I have a continuous drive, passion and attitude for basketball and my team.
I work hard year round on my basketball skills. I participate in AAU as well as small group and one on one training. I am on my school track team and lift weights in a summer program, which all contribute to my athleticism.
In the classroom I am extremely diligent in making sure that I am getting grades that keep me on the honor roll and continue to challenge myself academically. I am have been taking a minimum of three honors classes each semester. I volunteer at local basketball camps in the summer and at a home daycare helping with all ages of children. I also am employed PT in my off season at the community center in my hometown.
I am looking for a school that will be a good fit for my academic interests and one where I can continue to push myself in the classroom as well as on the basketball court. I am open to all options to find the right school for me and continue to play at the highest level of competition possible.
Most importantly, I will conduct myself with class and respect on and off the court, knowing that the way I carry myself reflects on my family, team, coaches and the school I attend.
