My goal is to attend a college or university where I can obtain a degree in Sports Medicine/Exercise Science and Sports. While working toward my degree, having the opportunity to play basketball at the highest level, while achieving this goal would mean so much to me.
I have been playing basketball since I was 9 at Watertown-Mayer, on school and travel teams. I knew early on that I loved how it challenged me both physically and mentally.
I transferred to Waconia High School and attended there my freshman and half my sophomore year. Coming into their basketball program as an unknown, I knew I had to work very hard. I was able to make their 10th grade team as a 9th grader, and half way through my 9th grade year was moved to their Junior Varsity and had the honor of playing some Varsity. I lettered in basketball as a freshman.
I realized early that I wanted to take my love of basketball as far as I could. I knew an important piece in getting the opportunity to get into a good school, was academics. I had previously considered Mayer Lutheran High School and I knew in meeting with the staff, teachers and other students I knew this was where I was supposed to be. My goals while I'm here is to excel in my academics, grow in my faith and my ability to become a leader on and off the court. I'm very excited to play basketball at this school. I know my abilities will compliment this team.
To take my skills to the next level, I began playing AAU as a 7th grader. This year through continued hard work, I've made the 10th grade Comets Elite team. I'm excited for this opportunity and the challenge it presents.
I consider myself a very versatile player. My dad always talks to me about the value of knowing all positions and I have had the opportunity to play many positions from post to a point guard. Currently in this AAU season I will rotate between a small forward and shooting guard. My desired position at the college level would be shooting guard. I feel my strength is my ability to shoot from the arch.
