I am a 5'11'' junior from Rockford High School and play as a power forward. Last year I accomplished my goal of starting on my high school's varsity team as a sophomore. I love basketball because of the intensity, strategy needed and physical aspect of the game. I look forward to playing basketball in college.
My other activities are band, being a WEB leader, FCA, varsity soccer and varsity track. In track and field I have been competing at the varsity level since 7th grade. My events are hurdles, sprints and relays. I have been a 4 time conference champion, 4 time section champion and 3 year state participant. Track provides me with speed and strength for basketball.
In school I maintain a 4.04 GPA. I believe sports help me stay motivated and focused allowing me to excel in my grades.
Summer AAU coach James Fasset comments :
"Aliyah is a game changer on both ends of the floor. She defends all 5 positions and out rebounds the other team by herself. Offensively Aliyah, adds possessions by her aggressive play around the basket. Aliyah is always one of the most if not the most athletic player on the floor. Her passion willingnesss to be coached makes her a great fit in any college program. Aliyah will be a 2, 3, or 4 at the college level."
Prep Hoops write up :
#145 – Aliyah Robran – 5’11 forward, Rockford (Minnesota Suns)
Like Ntambwe, one gets the feeling that Robran’s best basketball is still two or three years down the road. Last high school season Aliyah became a factor at Rockford, earning a spot in the starting lineup and proving she could compete effectively at the varsity level. This summer Robran took things up a notch and the effort she has put in on skill development with trainer Jamal Guy bore fruit. Aliyah has a plenty of size on a big frame and she’s a multi-sport athlete with state track and field accolades on her resume, which also happens to include a 4.0 GPA. Aliyah has earned the #145 ranking.
