My name is Ireland Baines and I am a Senior at Concord Christian Academy in Concord, NH.
My collegiate goals are to have the opportunity to play basketball and to extend my learning for my future after college. My educational goals will weigh heavily on my decision of which college I will decide to attend. Basketball will also have a significant role in my decision because it has always been my dream to play college basketball.
I think what makes me a good candidate is that I have always balanced my time well between, family, friends, school, work and basketball. This has made me a well rounded and grounded person. What makes me different from other recruits is my character. I value integrity! I believe I have a serving heart and put others before myself.
When I am on the basketball court I feel at peace. Even when under pressure I remain calm, cool and in control. I always put my teammates first on and off the court and I get a thrill out of setting them up to succeed. I have excellent court vision, passing and dribbling skills and demonstrate high basketball IQ. From the point guard position I have the ability to read and react to the opponents defense very well. I like to consider myself a leader on and off the court and try to lead by example.
As for my academics I am disciplined, a self starter, and I do not procrastinate when it comes to school work and anything else that needs to get done. One of my main goals in life is to be a positive role model for younger ladies and athletes. I believe I can do this best through my academics and basketball.
I look forward to the opportunity to fulfill my dream and be a part of a great basketball organization and school.
