My name is Casey Stores, and I am a dedicated combo guard who thrives both as a point guard and shooting guard. I take pride in creating my own shot and setting up my teammates to succeed. Basketball has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember, and it has shaped who I am both on and off the court.
Since the age of five, I’ve been immersed in sports, playing both soccer and basketball. While I’ve developed skills in both, I’ve chosen to pursue excellence in basketball. I love the intensity of competition and the challenge of pushing myself to new limits. My work ethic is relentless—I’m the first one in the gym and the last to leave. I train with purpose, focusing on shooting, passing, ball handling, and strength conditioning. These consistent efforts have built my confidence and prepared me to compete at the highest level. My ultimate goal is to play elite basketball while continuing to grow as a student-athlete.
Equally important to me are my academic and career aspirations. I plan to major in Sports Medicine with a minor in Psychology. I believe that in competitive sports, the mind and body are deeply connected. Through my own journey of balancing academic responsibilities and athletic performance, I’ve learned the importance of mental resilience and physical care. I know many student-athletes face similar challenges, and I want to be someone who helps them build confidence and find motivation from within.
My goal is to pursue a career in applied or clinical health professions and eventually attend graduate school in a field related to exercise science. I’m especially interested in understanding how mental health, anatomy, and biomechanics contribute to healing and performance. I’m a hardworking and creative individual, and I believe these qualities will help me succeed in Sports Medicine. Attending a university with a strong basketball program and an excellent medical school is essential to achieving my goals.
Beyond academics and athletics, I am committed to serving my community. I currently volunteer at least four hours a week at local soup kitchens, food banks, and city park cleanups. These experiences have taught me the value of giving back and the importance of connecting with people from all walks of life. Volunteering has helped me develop communication skills and the ability to work in diverse environments. It has also deepened my understanding of the world and strengthened my desire to make a positive impact.
I am excited about the future and the opportunities ahead. I am ready to bring my passion, discipline, and drive to a university that will challenge me academically, athletically, and personally.
