I started to play basketball in first grade and immediately knew this was the game for me. Ever since I started playing I have learned things about myself such as how much I hate to lose, how to become more social on and off the court, and how to really keep myself under control in different situations. When i go to college I want to be in the medical field specifically an athletic trainer or physical therapist. For high school my goal is to go to the pit and win state. After a huddle every team says a chant, we say “state”. That rush of emotion to win state with my whole team is what I currently strive for.
At the end of fifth grade I joined a club team known as “Young Gunz”. That was where I learned all the factors and importances to basketball. During the spring of my freshmen year, my coach of 4 and a half years became sick. After two months of being in a coma he passed away. He has the biggest influence on who i am as not only a player but a person too. He built me to be strong, to be a leader, and to never give up no matter what people say. There was a point where playing basketball with out him seemed impossible. Now I play not only for my team and my school program but for him and to make sure I finish what he started.
