Though basketball is the newest sport of the three that I play I have grown to have very strong emotions about this sport and believe that if I continue on the road that I am on it will end with success. I have not always wanted to play at a college level but I have always wanted to go to college because out of my family, I would be the only person that goes. I believe that playing in college is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that could change my future for the better.
As I have grown on the court I have learned a lot of new things about myself. I pick up skills very quickly and learn from every mistake that I make, this makes me a fast learner and a proficient player. I have strong defensive skills, mental toughness, and leadership skills. I am very coachable with great listening skills and strive to do my best on the court. I might not be the fastest or have the best skills but I will be the hardest worker and do everything I can to improve day by day.
I play sports year-round, these include volleyball, soccer, and basketball. I've played soccer my whole life and volleyball for 7 years but am now mostly committed to basketball. While in college my main focus will be my courses I would also like to play 2 sports. I know it is not common for people for play multiple sports in college but while my main sport will be basketball, soccer will always have my heart.
In the classroom, I have always been in honors classes since grade school. I work hard to maintain a high GPA and strive to be a straight-A student and a great peer tutor. I have taken two college classes as an upcoming sophomore and intend to graduate early and enroll in college early as well.
I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and my athletics. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible. I hope to become a great role model to all my peers, in my community and make my parents proud.
