I’m currently a Junior at Bowman County High School. We are Class B, District 5, and Region 3. I fell in love with the game of basketball when I was a fourth grader. Ever since then, the basketball court has been a second home to me. I am very grateful that I was given the opportunity to play basketball. It has brought me so many great relationships, taught me many life lessons, and has helped build my self-confidence and self-esteem. Basketball has also taught me what hard work and dedication really is. I believe that the work and the time you put into it is what you will get out of it. I made the final decision that I want to continue to play the game I love at the college level, which would be an opportunity that not many people are able to experience.
I have four years of varsity experience. I got the opportunity as an eighth grader to move up to the varsity level, this was a big push for our high school girls’ basketball program. It was difficult to play with a team that didn’t necessarily want you to be there, but I worked hard every day to prove I was there for a reason. I have started varsity my Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior year. During my Sophomore and Junior year, our team was region champs and competed at the state tournament. My Sophomore year I made the all-region team. My Junior year I made all-district, all-region, and first team all-state.
I am a leader on and off the court. I am always looking for ways to make myself and my teammates better. I think it’s important to always give 100% at any time on the court. I am fully dedicated to basketball and will do anything to make myself better.
The summer going into my Sophomore year I decided to play AAU. I was asked to play on the 16U ND Attack 1st team. Playing on this team pushed me to be a better player as I was playing with girls all a year older than me. I also played with this team in the summer going into my Junior year. This group of girls were very talented and dedicated, six of the nine of us were on an all-state team. This year I will play with the 17U ND Attack 1st team.
As I move on to the next chapter of this basketball journey, I will continue to look for a college experience that will elevate my basketball performance and make me better academically. I will be open to any opportunity with the ultimate goal of finding the perfect match.
