Personal Statement

My main collegiate goals are to grow as a person and to compete and prepare for the next level. I want to not only learn and develop as a player but as a person as well. Basketball has put me in various situations that involve me making important decisions or trust quick instincts to get me to where I want to go. Basketball has also shown or displayed the natural leader in me and has allowed me not only show but learn from my teammates and past coaches. I think with my size as a guard, speed, and length separates me from your average guard, and my ability to not only score and pass but get up there and get blocks and rebounds as well. I also, as a Freshman, am in a Junior Algebra 2 class and take 3 other honors courses such as Honors Spanish 2, Honors English 9, Honors Modern World History. So I believe I have a lot to offer on the academic side as well.

In her first year at Gahanna Middle School South, she led her team to a 16-4 record (the same team finished 5-12 as 7th graders). She was voted Most Valuable Offensive Player. She led her team in scoring, steals, and blocks. She was 2nd in rebounding and set a school record with 18 rebounds in one game.
2019 Ohio Lady Hoopsters (8th/9th)
2018 Grace Christian Middle School Basketball (7th grade)
Clarke started at point guard as a 7th grader for her middle school team. The Central Ohio Athletic League (COAL) consisted of 6-8 graders. Clarke led her team in scoring and was voted first team all-league for the second consecutive year. Scored 21 points in a game.

Clarke was invited to Toronto to represent Team USA in the battle between the best rated Canadian and American High School female basketball players. The 2nd Annual Ball N Across Borders War Games (BABWG) will take place at Seneca College. This Canada vs USA girl’s showcase is likened to other North American premiere women’s basketball events such as the McDonald’s All American and Jordan Brand Classic Games.
