When I was younger, I was always active playing two or three sports a year. Lacrosse wasn’t the first sport I ever tried. To be honest I didn’t know much about it until the sixth grade, when I was first introduced to the sport and started playing. I fell in love with lacrosse because it combined attributes of other popular sports I played like soccer, football, and basketball, yet was so fast-paced. Since our school district did not have an organized lacrosse program, I played in the Gahanna Youth Lacrosse program and Resolute club teams until High School. As a freshman I made the varsity team and also contributed to the JV team. My goal for high school lacrosse is to be a 4-year letterman and captain in my senior year.
My interest and love for the sport of lacrosse, and interest in sports as a career, drive my desire to play lacrosse in college and pursue a degree in sports management. I desire to one day coach and manage my own program which include youth, college or professional league. My aspiration would be to play professional lacrosse or one day own my own sports team.
Some of the qualities that describe who I am are: hard-working, passionate, self-driven, caring, team leader and respectful. I believe these qualities make me a good candidate for my future coach and college team. My character sets me apart because I will consistently work hard to improve on what I’m doing whether on the field or in the classroom. I’m respectful to coaches, players and I always want to help out the team in anyway way I can.
I show my respect to anyone and everyone, doing my best to help people out. I care about the people and the team surroundings. I am often found picking up loose trash off the locker room floor and try to keep my area clean. On off days I will hit the gym, staying active and even find a net and shoot for an hour or two just so that I can stay in shape and improve my skills. Academically, I have been challenged with a diagnosis of Dyslexia and ADD meaning it is more difficult for me to pick up something in class and understand it the first time, but in spite of those challenges I worked hard and have been able to maintain a GPA of 3.152 in high school. This demonstrates my ability to work hard and achieve success academically but also apply these skills to playing lacrosse.
