I am a 4.433 junior student taking four advanced classes. I am striving to graduate Summa Cum Laude. I was one of three in my class selected to participate in the Pre-Professional Medical Academy during my sophomore and junior year. This has allowed me to explore options in the field of Health and Medicine, which is the path I would like to pursue in college. One of my strengths is time management. This skill has allowed me to excel in school while participating in many extra-curricular activities.
As a junior, I was varsity co-captain and led my team in scoring and assists. As a team, we were first seed in sectional play, and won our way into the district contest for the first time in five years. In addition to basketball, I continue to play soccer (high scorer) and golf (first position). Division III basketball honors I have earned this year are Third Team All Ohio, Div II/III/IV Underclassman of the Year for Women's Tri-County Basketball Coaches Association, Portage County Female Athlete of theYear, Portage Trail Conference Player of the Year, First Team All Northeast Ohio Inland District. I scored my 1000th point this year after 57 career games and I hold my HS record number of assists in one game (12). This year, I had back-to-back 30 point games and earned MaxPreps player of the week.
As a sophomore, I was varsity co-captain and led my team in scoring and assisting. As the only returning starter, I quickly learned the strengths of my new teammates which allowed me to exploit the best situations on the court. In addition to basketball and AAU, I continue to play soccer and golf. (Division III honors I have earned this season are All Ohio Honorable Mention, Div. II, III, IV Underclassman of the Year for Women's Tri-County Basketball Coaches Association, 2nd Team All Northeast Ohio Inland District, and 1st Team All Portage Trail Conference.)
As a freshman, I led our varsity team in scoring and did my part to secure our first outright league conference title since 1996. I was fortunate to start varsity with four seniors who trusted me. Together we developed a strong team bond that I will continue to foster with a new starting line-up. Other sports I play contribute to my skill in basketball: soccer enhances my footwork, track and cross country increases my speed and endurance, and golf strengthens my mental focus. (Division III honors I have earned this season are All Ohio Honorable Mention, 2nd Team All Northeast Ohio Inland District, 1st Team All Portage Trail Conference, and 1st team for Women's Tri-County Basketball Coaches Association.)
