I've had a passion for basketball all my life. From the time I was old enough to dribble a basketball I knew I loved this sport. I became a basketball manager for my older sister's basketball team when I was in the 2nd grade and from there my love of the sport only grew stronger. Her coaches took me under their wing teaching me different ball handling skills and shooting techniques. I managed her team for five years and watched her High School team go to the State semi-finals two years in a row. My sister now plays for a Division II basketball team. I see the struggles she's had to overcome both physically and mentally by playing at the college level but knowing that her tuition has been paid for by doing something that she loves as much as I do...it takes the away negative aspects of trying to juggle playing a sport while keeping your grades in check. My sister encourages me to be my very best and I look up to her and all of her accomplishments knowing that I can continue playing the game that I love so much and still continue my education after high school.
