Being able to continue my passion for basketball while pursuing my academic interests would really be a blessing. I've played basketball from a very young age and had the good fortune of having an older brother that played Varsity basketball and a Dad that coached to guide me. In high school I was a starter since my Freshman year, and became a captain shortly after. That experience taught me what it means to be an unselfish teammate and finding enjoyment in my friends' / Team success -- something I've carried with me from youth basketball to today.
I like to compete off the floor as well achieving a 4.0 gpa and Valedictorian status in High School. My Freshman year as a student athlete has been very challenging with a difficult course load including Calculus and Physics. With good study habits I've done my best to manage both and will continue to work hard as I pursue my passion in the fields of Environmental Science / Marine Biology. As graduates of the University of Wisconsin, my parents have continued to reinforce the value of a collegiate education and this will continue to be a high priority for me.
Regarding my time at the University of Wisconsin, I’ve grown tremendously both mentally and physically as a Division 1 Big 10 player. Going up against D1 players in practice and in games made me tougher and more resilient and has strengthened my mental toughness. In the weight room I learned to be comfortable with discomfort, and my knowledge of weight training has grown exponentially. Most importantly, my knowledge of the game has expanded, with extensive film study and practices/games being great opportunities to learn from a coaching staff with vast D1 experience.
While I’ve had an amazing time growing here in Madison, I’ve decided to pursue my basketball career at a new school where I can be a more direct contributor (with potentially 4 years of eligibility due to limited playing time this season). I cannot express how grateful I am to my teammates and the Coaching staff at the University of Wisconsin for giving me the opportunity to be a Badger this past season, but am excited for what’s next!
