Mara Songer '22 Recruiting Profile

    Hello, my name is Mara Songer and I'm currently a member of the Northwestern Warriors Women's Basketball team. Some of my collegiate goals and aspirations is to study in the medical field. I would really love to eventually be able to become a cardiovascular technologist. I absolutely enjoy working with people and being able to help them. I personally believe I could be a good pick for your team because I have a good work ethic, I'm always ready to work hard and try my best, and I always have an open mind to becoming a better athlete. What makes me different compared to other athletes is that I work extremely well with people, very charismatic, and I have tons of respect for everyone and anyone even if I disagree with them. In athletics, I have been brought up by my coaches to always be coachable, which I believe I am. I am always ready to improve on anything and everything if it means I can help my team out. I also know how to become focused and think about what I'm doing so I can improve on my skills. Academics are very crucial to me. I believe that without good education it's extremely hard to be successful in life. I take my grades very seriously. Just like in sports, if there is every anything I need to work on to better myself academics wise, I am always right there getting that extra help I need.
