Personal Statement

I am a Senior at Harrah High School. I have played basketball since first grade including AAU, which I started in second grade. I have played with the Oklahoma Lady Bombers, Oklahoma Select, Oklahoma Elite, Oklahoma Shock, and recently the Oklahoma Swish. I have traveled to play in Florida, Texas, Kansas, Arkansas, New Orleans, Iowa, North Carolina, and Kentucky. Along the way winning several National tournaments including AAU Nationals (2 years consecutively), Prime Time Nationals (3 years consecutively), and MAYB (3 years consecutively). For my school ball team, I got to move up to Varsity my freshman year while playing on the freshman team and JV for a few games. Including getting to be apart of being a state runner up that year. In my sophomore year, I earned a starting position on Varsity and received the North Canadian River All-Conference Honorable Mention award. I typically play a point guard or a shooting guard. I am a big asset on the defensive end. Plus with my speed and endurance, I came to be known as the team's energizer bunny. I am hardworking, never give up, and am always in the gym trying to make myself to be the best I can possibly be, including skills training twice a week. Along with basketball, I also run cross country and track. I have qualified for state in cross country for the past three years and in track my freshman year. I got my mile down to a 5:40 and my 2 mile to a 12:53. Plus, this year in cross country I received Honorable Mention. I also train with a certified speed and agility coach to help improve my skills in both of my sports. I strive for the best on the court but, also, off the court. In school I have a 4.33 GPA, take part in the LEO club, Harrah Future Leaders, was Class Reporter for two years and now am the Class President, and I am the Treasurer for the National Honor Society.

Training

  • Speed and Agility
  • 4 years
  • I do speed and agility with Brian Huff in Edmond, Oklahoma, twice a week. There I do a series of exercises that work on different muscle groups to help build my speed and strength for basketball and running. I also run on a high-speed treadmill there. Right now, I currently hold the fastest speed for all of the girls that he has trained, and that is presently 23 miles per hour. What I do there, is run three runs, which can range from 10 to 45 secs, each depending on the speed and incline of the treadmill, and then I do three sets of exercises and repeat this three more times.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
