Annie Dawson '24 Recruiting Profile

Since I was a little girl I've always loved the game of basketball. I wasn't born with coordination or natural talent, but from an early age I had a passion and a drive to achieve my goals and prove my doubters wrong. In addition to strong family support, I've been blessed to surround myself with mentors and peers who have pushed me in the right direction as an athlete and as a person. Over the years, I've elevated my shooting, ballhandling, court vision, and overall basketball IQ to an elite level, establishing myself as a team leader, an efficient guard, and a strong asset on both offense and defense. Shooting from well beyond the 3-point line has become one of my specialties; that, combined with my ability to drive the lane and finish through traffic, has proven extremely effective on offense. On the defensive side of the ball, my speed, hustle, and intensity have shut down many quality opponents. My ongoing development continues to be fueled by my passion and respect for the game. 

Off the court, I devote myself to faith, family, and school. I'm ranked first in my class and currently maintain a 4.0 GPA with weighted classes on my schedule going into my  senior year. I'm very involved in my church youth group, having served on the leadership team and in the worship band as a vocalist and drummer. I've participated in many extracurricular activities in school including softball, track & field,  4-H, FCA, and cheer & drill. 

From the very beginning, I've known that I wanted to play college basketball. Education is my top priority as I prepare for a career after school. Priority number two is a quality basketball program with a winning culture and a team and staff that not only compete together on game days, but also do life together as a family on and off the court. I intend to play the sport I love at the highest level possible for as long as possible.
