I am a 17 year old Female playing as the starting Point Guard on my high school girls team. After winning City Championships earlier in the week, we then captured the SWOSSA Championships on November 15, 2024 with a double overtime victory over Holy Names. Prior to that we finished the regular season schedule in first place in our Lambton/Chatham-Kent County League with a record of 12-0. We now move onto the OFSAA AAA Championships on November 25th.
We finished runner-up at the annual University of Western "Purple and White" tournament and third place at the annual Lambton College Invitational. I was named a tournament All-Star at both tournaments.
I have been selected to play for the London Ramblers JUEL team for the upcoming 2023-24 season with practices and games set to get underway at the conclusion of the high school season. Last season, I played for Windsor-St. Clair JUEL team in the Ontario, Canada JUEL League (2022-2023). I started some of the games as an 11th grader, but primarily found myself coming off of the bench as a sixth man. Our Windsor JUEL team concluded the 2022-23 season third overall after the end of the season tournament.
I am 5’9”, right handed, a ball handler/shooter/defender who loves basketball. I have an overall 3.0GPA (85%) through midterms of my Senior year. My plans are to study physiotherapy/health sciences/kinesiology at the University level.
Prior to COVID, I had played Select/Club Basketball from the time I was in 2nd Grade all the way up to 8th Grade. COVID knocked out my Freshman year of basketball and all AAU possibilities for me. Though I continued to workout and attended numerous camps and training sessions throughout those 2 years, I missed the game possibilities. I was able to get back on the Court in competition for my Sophomore season and though we played a watered down schedule, I started every game for our team that went 13-0 and won everything that we were eligible to play in.
During my junior season I was a starter on my school varsity team, averaging 35 mins a game. losing in our city finals are season ended.
Basketball is my favourite sport. I have played school basketball since Grade 2. I have won 4 city championship titles in 4 years.
I have played the last two seasons on the London Southwest AAU program that saw us travel for tournaments to New York, Montreal, Ohio and Kentucky. I work out at least once a week with the Lambton College Women’s Lions team, who finished second in the Province last year and are currently ranked second overall in the Province. My mother is the Assistant Coach for this team and is able to get me court time with this team.
I love to play an attacking style of game, get out on the fast break and can score from anywhere on the floor. I am confident in my abilities as a defender, ball handler and passer and can find any of my open teammates on the floor. I am traditionally a Point Guard, but, have had to adjust my style of play at times to take on more of the scoring at times.
I will graduate in the spring of 2024. I have a strong desire to compete in University. I have career goals to become a Chiropractor or Physiotherapist. It has been my dream and ambition to play basketball at the University level.
