As an aspiring athlete at the collegiate level, contributing to a team both on and off the court is of the utmost importance to me. My name is Taryn Stoukas. I am a class of 2026, 5'7" Point Guard at St. Patrick's Catholic Highschool in Ontario Canada. Throughout my highschool journey I have demonstrated exemplary attendance and behaviour along with a 4.0 GPA in a Dual Language program. While managing to achieve academics at a high level, I have also been able to maintain a strong commitment to my varsity school athletics (basketball, soccer and volleyball). Furthermore, volunteering both inside and outside of the school further exemplifies the leadership I have within the school. As an athlete, I have served as co-captain of our varsity basketball team, varsity soccer team, as well as our varsity volleyball team. Our varsity basketball team recently represented St. Patrick's Catholic Highschool and the Southwestern Ontario league at our provincial championships. As a team we showed teamwork, emplary sportsmanship as well as impressive skill losing out in the semi-finals and coming in 4th place in the province. Being named co-captain (as a sophmore) of such a solid group of experienced girls' basketball players was and is still a tremendous honour. Additionally, the leadership qualities I bring to my travel Basketball team with the Juel Windsor St. Clair continues to help me show tenacity and great skill in the most highly competitive league in the province. The thing that sets me apart from other players is I am a multi-sport athlete. I have not only played basketball at this high level, but I also played soccer for the London Whitecaps OPDL (Ontario Player Development League) as well as participated on our varsity soccer team at St. Patrick's Highschool. I play center back (sweeper) and outside mid-field with my strength being my cardio endurance "on court/field" IQ. Furthermore, I also play varsity level volleyball at St Patrick's in the position of Libero where my agility, quickness and abilty to dig for the ball is what my coaches love the most. My motivation to always improve along with my dedication to my coach, teammates and academics is what my parents have instilled upon me throughout my athletic career. Watching my older sister play at the collegiate level has also made me strive and push myself to work hard not only during practice or games but outside of the regular practice schedule. I believe all these things combined make me a valuable asset to any school and basketball team.
