Charity Smith '22 Recruiting Profile

I am a student before athlete and always put my academics first. I have 3.5 GPA, made honor roll my freshman year, and was a scholar athlete both freshman and sophomore years. My goals are to become an Early Education Teacher and to be a College athlete.

I started playing basketball when I was 4 years old, and it became my true passion when I was about 10.  I’ve grown up around sports my whole life and was always in the gym playing with my older siblings and my parents coaching. I fell in love with basketball because of its competitive nature. I have always pushed myself and my teammates to be the best that we could be.

Because of my court awareness I have always been a true point guard. As much as I love the offensive side of the court, I love the defensive side even more. One way that I show my team I am in it 100% is to work to get in front of the play and take a charge.

 I led my team in assists, PPG, FT%, blocks, deflections and steals.  I was voted Offensive MVP by my team. I was also chosen for All League Honorable mention for both my freshman and sophomore year.
