My ultimate goal for selecting a college is to find a strong balance between academics and athletics. I am motivated to join a women's basketball program that will not only allow me to thrive at the collegiate level but also provide me with the opportunity to be a supportive teammate and successful student-athlete.
My basketball journey started locally in 3rd grade and expanded when I joined my first AAU team in 4th grade. Throughout the years, I have been expected to play every position on the court to help the team wherever there was a need. Over the past three years, I have been dedicated to year-round training and have been part of the Strick Hoops AAU basketball program led by Sean Strickland, a former collegiate head coach. Throughout my freshman and sophomore years at Grove City Area High School, I have earned the opportunity to start in over 40 varsity games, which has given me invaluable experience in high-pressure situations from a young age.
I also play soccer for Grove City Area High School, where I have also been a varsity starter during my freshman, sophomore and junior seasons. In all three seasons, I have been named the team “Offensive MVP” by the coaches. Additionally, I have been chosen as a varsity team captain by my teammates since my sophomore season. While soccer provides enjoyment and competition, my true passion lies on the basketball court.
Whether on and off the court/field, I strive to lead by example in regards to dedication and positive energy. I actively participate in elementary programs and aim to leave a lasting impact on both my high school and AAU teams. My coaches describe me as hardworking and coachable, a teammate who can be counted on to give 110%.
Academically, I am committed to achieving excellence in the classroom. Currently, I maintain a 4.0 GPA, while pursuing an accelerated Math and Science curriculum. In the 2022-23 academic year, I was honored by the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) for my exceptional abilities and achievements in Science and Math. I am particularly interested in pursuing STEM majors in college, with a focus on Engineering.
Going into my junior season, I am continuing to focus on developing my physical strength, quickness, skill development and mental toughness to prepare for the higher demand of the collegiate level. I am grateful for the opportunities ahead of me, and I am fully committed to not letting my coaches and teammates down.
